Why Nutritional Therapy?

Whilst adapting to survive we have mostly lost what it means to thrive and how to change the pattern of behaviour that has led to unhealthy food and lifestyle choices.

Bountiful You Nutrition adopts an evidence-based ‘lifestyle medicine’ approach (often in collaboration with your GP), but we also work intuitively and holistically. This means the nutritional support we offer is personalised, client-focused and incorporates lifestyle coaching to empower you to optimise your health.

Bountiful You Nutrition was founded by me, Joyce Brown a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist registered with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT). This means in order to maintain my membership I must adhere to CNHC’s code of conduct and BANT’s high standards which includes continuing professional development and keeping abreast of the latest research in the fast-moving world of nutrition.

Common Questions

Straightforward answers to frequently asked questions.

  • Do you do group events?

Got a group of friends or want to link up with like-minded people for a 6-week programme of generalised nutritional support? This would suit anyone preferring the motivation of a group and can be arranged via Skype.

  • Can I arrange nutritional therapy for my employees?

Work-life balance is something most employees strive for but very few succeed in achieving. Having spent more than 15 years in the corporate world Joyce understands the benefits and importance of balance and wellness in the workplace. Our corporate wellness programme includes talks and interactive workshops on various health issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to book a private consultation or one of the Programmes for individualised support.

  • How should I prepare for my first consultation?

Please complete the confidential and detailed Nutritional Therapy Questionnaire, including 3-day food diary and return both to me at least 4 days prior to your first appointment. This will save valuable time by giving insights into your health concerns. All information shared will be held securely and will never be shared without your express permission.

  • What should I expect from my consultation?

During your initial consultation we will review your health goals, symptoms and food diary. I will explain the factors and nutritional deficiencies that could be contributing to your symptoms and we will work together to create a practical, personalised programme based on your needs, to support your journey back to wellness.

  • Will there be any tests required?

Where testing is not available on the NHS, functional tests are sometimes used to help validate suspicions of biochemical imbalances and provide an extra piece of the jigsaw puzzle. Test results will be sent to me for analysis and we will discuss any programme changes at your follow-up consultation. Please note functional tests are charged separately and are often ordered directly with the laboratory.

  • Will I need to take supplements?

Supplements may be recommended for a short period if additional nutritional support is needed.
